Kirkup Gardens Community Taskforce
In 2025 – 2026 Waymarking C.I.C. is working in partnership with Heart & Soul Community Action Team, Manchester City Council’s Park Team, Neighbourhood Team and Woodhouse Park’s elected councillors on the Kirkup Gardens Community Taskforce Project.
Funded by the National Lottery, the project brings Woodhouse Park residents together to have their say about making positive changes to Kirkup Gardens park. We’re aiming to make Kirkup Gardens a vibrant, cherished and healthier community space, over the next few years, by realising the potential of community action in the neighbourhood.
Kirkup Gardens Community Taskforce is a programme of fun and friendly workshops and events including Co-creation Workshops, Park Gatherings and Partner Planning Meetings.
This project is rooted in the Woodhouse Park community, and builds on and develops previous local projects, which saw the formation of Heart & Soul team and which were supported and funded by MCRactive. For the last three years, Heart & Soul Community Action Team in partnership with Waymarking C.I.C., have run park-based community workshops, championing local residents as experts in their parks, with nearly 500 people contributing to research and collaborating on designing a vision and action plan for the community-led regeneration of Kirkup Gardens.
