Project: One (2010)

Sarah Spanton was asked to participate in ArtBloc’s Project: One, (Artbloc is an artist collective based in York). Spanton contributed a series of instructions for another artist to respond to, whilst responding to the set of instructions that she received in return. Spanton’s performative and visual response, centred on the question – what does it mean to live in the city?

This included a performance at Pulse Cafe, 25 Fossgate, York. Which featured a series of photographic images randomly taken one a day whilst travelling around Leeds over one month (12.5.10 to 8.6.10). These are 10 of the images from the series:
