Assemblage (2005)

Sarah Spanton was commissioned by Axis – to respond to the physical and emotional journey Axis staff were making on leaving their old work place, a Georgian House, in Queen Square, Leeds.

Spanton interprets a series of maps, descriptive words and significant places identified by staff, into an evocative, experiential promenade performance Assemblage, in their new home, Round Foundry Media Centre, Leeds. Assemblage remembers and reconfigures the experience of Queen Square – including a video screening of Set Apart From Others and an image-text exhibition.
